Mapping Your Graduate Studies through your Undergraduate Education This is a 8 week intensive course (held evenings and weekends) that will enable undergraduate students learn career-mapping strategies. Beginning with an understanding of personal goals and personality traits, students will research career opportunities and map their career paths. Mapping their career paths will involve a thorough understanding of graduate school opportunities in the sciences, engineering and arts disciplines.
Students will prepare their undergraduate academic curriculum, including non-academic activities, summer opportunities-research and internship opportunities, networking and mentoring opportunities. This portfolio will enable students to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses as they choose graduate schools/programs.
The application process including tests, personal statements, interviews, recommendations, visiting schools, the application and student resume, publications and conference proceedings, networking with professors, research assistantships, teaching assistantships and fellowships will be discussed in this course.
Assistance will be provided to students who are applying to programs through the course lectures and assigned activities.
