Mapping your Undergraduate Studies through your High School Education
This is a 8 week intensive course (held evenings and weekends) that will enable high school students learn career-mapping strategies. Beginning with an understanding of personal goals and personality traits, students will research career opportunities and map their career paths. Mapping their career paths will involve a thorough understanding of opportunities in the sciences, engineering and arts disciplines.
Students will prepare their high school academic curriculum, including non-academic activities, summer opportunities, networking and mentoring opportunities. This portfolio will enable students to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses as they choose undergraduate schools/programs.
The application process including tests, essays, interviews, recommendations, visiting schools, the application and student resume, and financial aid will be discussed in this course.
Assistance will be provided to students who are applying to programs through the course lectures and assigned activities.
