The EduPlan Program
As official educational counselors for such institutions as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Brown University, the EduPlan Associates can provide a unique view into the education path from high school, to undergraduate and then graduate school, through their own experiences and those of students assisted through our counseling services. Over the five years, the EduPlan Associated have worked with over 500 students through one-on-one counseling, workshops, and lectures.
- The EduPlan Associates currently offer counseling through their in-class course entitled: Mapping your Career though Education
- AND provide One-on-One/Small Group Comprehensive, Ongoing Counseling during the high school years, undergraduate and/or graduate application process.
Target Participants
Program Goals
- To provide students with career development strategies both at the high school and undergraduate levels.
- To enable students to recognize their needs, interests, motivators and goals when planning for a career and education.
- To enable students to develop their decision-making skills.
- To provide students with information pertaining to current career choices in the sciences, engineering disciplines, arts and humanities disciplines.
- To provide students with a complete view to their high school and undergraduate education beginning at grade 10 and undergraduate year 1 respectively.
- To provide students access to EduPlan's Network including career services, mentors, activity providers, scholarship/grant providers, employers, university admission officers/counselors, testing services, tutors.
- To enable students to select a career matching one's personality, needs, interests; then match a school to the career selection made.
- To enable undergraduates to select graduate schools based on their career plans-industry versus academia.
- To assist students through the application process including the application calendar, the application, the essays, the recommendation letters, the interview, the SAT I, SATII and GRE, GMAT, LSAT, MCAT tests, portfolio/resume development
- To provide students information regarding scholarship and grant opportunities to support undergraduate and graduate studies.
- To enable students to map their career path via in-class room learning, peer to peer exercises, individual exercises and instructor assessments.
